BJMP Baguio goes viral after joking: ‘Hindi po hotel ang jail facilities’

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Baguio City Jail Female Dormitory has gone viral after posting a humorous Facebook exchange reminding the public that its facility is not a hotel.

In the shared Messenger conversation, a social media user asked whether there were still “available units” at the facility. The jail’s official page replied, “Ma’am, kulungan ng mga babae po dito.”

The lighthearted post quickly gained attention online, drawing laughs from netizens.

Along with the screenshot, the BJMP posted a reminder that jail facilities are not accommodations for staycations despite the joke.

“Isang paalala na hindi po hotel ang mga jail facilities ng BJMP,” the agency wrote.

The BJMP said the post was intended in good fun while reaffirming its commitment to maintaining safe, secure, and sanitary facilities for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), in line with its mandate to provide humane custody and care.
