Ian De Leon and his sister, Matet De Leon, appeared to signal a thaw in their relationship after sharing positive social media posts days following their public exchange over issues involving the estate of their late mother, National Artist Nora Aunor.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, Ian thanked Matet for what he described as a “wonderful conversation.”
“Thank you so much for the wonderful conversation! God bless us and our family!” Ian wrote.
A day earlier, Matet shared a childhood photo of herself with siblings Ian and Lotlot De Leon and their late mother, writing, “We miss you Ma.”
The posts came after Matet publicly criticized Ian over statements related to their mother’s inheritance, saying his comments reflected only his side of the story and denying allegations that she and her siblings were trying to claim the estate.
Ian, in an earlier television interview, acknowledged misunderstandings within the family and said he hoped the issues would be resolved in time. He also explained that he had established a one-person corporation to help preserve Nora Aunor’s legacy and intended to involve his siblings in the process.
Nora Aunor, who died on April 16, 2025, at the age of 71, was proclaimed a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022. She was one of the Philippines’ most acclaimed actresses, known for films including Himala, Bona, and Minsa’y Isang Gamu-gamo.
