The Quezon City Police District said the Iglesia ni Cristo has secured a permit to hold a protest on Wednesday, July 1, with authorities expecting about 100,000 participants.
QCPD spokesperson Maj. Jennifer Ganaban said the gathering is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Under the permit, the activity will be confined to White Plains Avenue and Temple Drive in Quezon City. Organizers are also prohibited from implementing a total road closure and are required to maintain cleanliness and order throughout the event.
Ganaban said the permit may be revoked if organizers fail to comply with the conditions imposed by the local government.
Thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo members gathered Tuesday at the EDSA People Power Monument for an emergency rally to protest what the group described as “selective justice.”
