PRC suspends license of Duterte supporter Lorraine Badoy

The Professional Regulation Commission has suspended the medical license of social media personality Lorraine Badoy-Partosa for six months after the Board of Medicine found her guilty of unethical and unprofessional conduct.

In its decision, the Board of Medicine imposed a six-month suspension on Badoy-Partosa’s certificate of registration for violating the Code of Ethics of the Medical Profession.

The suspension prohibits her from engaging in the practice of medicine for the duration of the penalty.

The administrative case stemmed from statements made by Badoy-Partosa linking the Alliance of Health Workers, its members, and community physician Ma. Natividad Castro to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front.

In 2022, the Alliance of Health Workers asked the PRC to revoke Badoy-Partosa’s medical license over what it described as repeated acts of red-tagging.

The complaint was later joined by 17 physicians who separately sought the suspension or revocation of her medical license, arguing that her public statements constituted deeply unprofessional conduct in violation of the ethical standards of the medical profession.
