The mother of 15-year-old Chris Lorenz Fabian, one of the students killed in the Tacloban school shooting, is calling for justice as authorities continue investigating the deadly attack that left three students dead.
Chris has been hailed as a hero after reports that he tried to protect his classmates during the shooting at San Jose National High School on June 22.
According to accounts from classmates and local residents, Chris allegedly blocked the door of their classroom to prevent the suspects from entering.
He was reportedly struck by gunfire while trying to shield his fellow students.
His mother, Bea Fabian, described her son as naturally kind and always willing to help others, even at his own expense.
She also expressed doubts that bullying alone was the motive behind the shooting and urged authorities to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
In an interview with News5, Fabian shared an emotional message for her son.
“Kung may time machine lang, ibabalik kita. Hindi ko sinasabing hindi maganda ‘yung ginawa mo. Pero kami naman ang iniwan mo,” she said.
“Ang bata-bata mo pa, sinakripisyo mo ‘yung buhay mo para sa iba,” she added.
Chris was among the three students killed after two classmates, aged 14 and 15, allegedly opened fire inside the school campus.
Police have taken both suspects into government custody as investigators work to determine the motive behind the shooting.
The incident has sparked nationwide discussions on school safety, juvenile crime, bullying and the possible influence of violent online content on minors.
Authorities continue to provide assistance to the victims’ families while the investigation remains ongoing.
