Talent manager and showbiz host Ogie Diaz broke his silence over the controversy involving his former talent Liza Soberano.
In a Youtube vlog, Soberano said that a lot of people have been disappointed and dismayed with her decision to carve her own path.
“People were shocked when word got around that I signed up to a startup company,” she said in a Youtube vlog.
Soberano also explained her decision to change paths.
“Many thought I had changed. But that wasn’t change. It was in fact the first real choice I made myself, for myself,” she said.
Soberano said that since she started in show business, she was put in a box in terms of decision making to her career. She also lamented that even her name was chosen for her.
In a separate vlog, Ogie answered some of the claims made by his former talent. Ogie said that they always give Soberno a say in all of her projects.
“Anak lagi kang binibigyan ng chance to say your piece, your opinion, your suggestions. Pinapakinggan ka din naman pag may complaints ka, pero diba kung minsan we have to meet halfway, pinagbibigyan mo naman ang production kapag nilambing ka and I thank you for that,” he said.
“Pakikisama ang tawag doon anak, pagtatanim para in the future may aanihin.
Ogie reminded Soberano that her fame was a product of combined efforts.
He also explained about choosing the name Liza Soberano.
“Yung sinabi mong ‘I didn’t chose the name Liza, It was chosen for me’, anak yung screen name na Liza Soberano ibinigay sayo ni tita Malou Santos, nang Star Cinema, yan ang nagtaguyod sa pamilya mo.
Ogie said that he will remain supportive of Soberano.
“Eto anak wa echos to, I wish you goodluck sa bagong bihis na Liza Soberano.
