Dubai Municipality (DM) has opened Mushrif Park to cyclists from 6 AM to 9 PM every day.
In its announcement, DM said people can now bike around the park through the set up special lanes and tracks, free of charge.
The DM stressed that bikers must adhere to their safety regulations, including wearing helmets, only using the cycling lane, refraining from taking their bicycles on pedestrian pathways, and switching on their front and backlights at night
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council earlier expressed his objective to make the emirate bike-friendly—directing the authorities to implement the best practices to make Dubai safer for cyclists.
The opening of the park is aimed to reduce the traffic accidents and carbon dioxide emissions in the emirate.
