As if 2020 is not weird enough, an online ice cream store in Jakarta, Indonesia has introduced a new unique flavor to the public—a beloved brand of instant noodles.
Evelyn Djoenaedi and Stephen Ganda, owners of Holi Ice Cream, said they have decided to create an Indomie Goreng-flavored ice cream because of their love for the said instant noodles
“Usually when tired after work, we enjoy cooking Indomie noodles. We’re also the kind of people who need dessert after a meal, hence we always eat our own [homemade] ice cream. Given this, we then thought about how fun it would be to create an Indomie Goreng ice cream flavour,” Evelyn told Jakarta Post.

According to her, they have perfected the recipe after a long period of brainstorming and experimenting. They then offered them to their family members for a taste test, which she said they absolutely loved.
“Surprisingly, they said it was very delicious, and they were surprised to find out it was an Indomie Goreng flavour. Rather than enjoy it ourselves, we then decided to sell it to the public for them to taste as well,” added Djoenaedi.
After launching the flavor on August 10, Djoenaedi said many customers have ordered it due to curiosity. Fortunately, they received many positive responses—with some saying the product is
“not too sweet” and “still felt like ice cream with a hint of Indomie Goreng.”
Some, however, said the flavor tasted weird, probably due to the fried onions sprinkled on top.
Among the other weird flavors introduced by Holi Ice Cream in the past include Energen Ice Cream, Soda Badak Ice Cream, and Red Wine Ice Cream.
