The first confirmed case of novel coronavirus in the Philippine was identified as a female patient who traveled from Wuhan to the Philippines via Hongkong last January 21.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III revealed this at a press conference on Thursday.
The Chinese woman, aged 38, sought medical help after experiencing a mild cough, said Duque.
Duque also confirmed that the woman has a travel history to Cebu and Dumaguete.
There are now 29 persons under investigation of suspected coronavirus cases, according to the Department of Health.
