Heavy rains in the UAE has caused 1,880 road accidents, 55 of which were serious crashes in Dubai within two days, according to a police report.
The serious accidents caused a few casualties while the rest were only minor accidents, the report said.
Police also received more than 51,000 calls on the emergency number 999 between mid Thursday to mid Saturday about accidents on roads and other places.
The report urged drivers and other citizens to take extra care in unstable weather conditions and to heed police instructions, especially in poor visibility conditions.
