124,000 more jobs to be created in Saudi Arabia through Hyperloop— study

A study says around 124,000 high tech jobs are expected to be created in Saudi Arabia by 2030 through a project by American company Virgin Hyperloop One, according to a report from Arabian Business.

Virgin Hyperloop One and the Saudi Economic City Authority agreed earlier this year to study the possibility of constructing the world’s longest hyperloop test and certification track.

The project also has the potential to add $4 billion to Saudi GDP the study added.

“This study sets the framework for the advancement of Virgin Hyperloop One’s system, and the creation of a new and unique ecosystem; creating jobs, supporting development and connecting people across the Kingdom,” Jay Walder, VHO’s CEO said.

Reports say the proposed Hyperloop between Dubai and Abu Dhabi will transport passengers along the Arabian coast at speeds of up to 1,200km/hour.

This will cut a 140km journey from 1hr 20mins to just 12mins. Around 10,000 people will be serviced each hour.
