WATCH: Condo residents pay tribute to hospital workers

A simple yet warm round of applause from a nearby condominium brought medical workers at Adventist Medical Center Manila to tears.

In a video shared by the hospital, it showed that most of the occupants went outside their balconies just to applaud them.

One occupant even went out of their way to prepare a banner for the workers where the word “Salamat” (Thank You) was written.

Some medical workers can be seen wiping off their tears.

These hospital workers were asked to come out at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1 to personally witnessed the surprise the residents prepared for them.

Leilani Macaya, the supervisor of the emergency room at the hospital, told GMA 7’s reporter Emil Sumangil said it was the first time in her 35 years in service as a nurse that she was given much appreciation.

She added that the gesture gives them the strength to continue their work and fight against COVID-19.

At the end of the video, the medical workers also clapped together three times and thanked the occupants of the La Verti Residences in Pasay City for what they have done.
