Emirates to resume limited UAE flights beginning April 6

Flag carrier Emirates announced Thursday that it will “start flying a limited number of passenger flights” on April 6 following a temporary grounding of its aircraft because of coronavirus pandemic.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief executive of Emirates, said the airline has received approval from the UAE authorities to resume flights.

“Emirates has received approval from UAE authorities to start flying a limited number of passenger flights. From 06 April, these flights will initially carry travellers outbound from the UAE,” His Highness said in a tweet.


“Emirates looked forward to the gradual resumption of passenger services in line with lifting of travel & operational restrictions, including assurance of health measures to safeguard our people & customers,” His Highness said adding that the passengers’ safety & well-being will always be on top priority.

UAE suspended all passenger flights to and from the country on March 24 to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
