Senator Sonny Angara is the third senator who tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“I regret to inform you that today March 26, I have received my test result and it is positive for COVID-19,” Angara said in a statement.
Angara said that he decided to get tested after receiving mild symptoms like mild fever, cough and fatigue and general weakness.
“I have not been in contact in public since the test was conducted on March 16,” the senator said.
The senator asked the public for prayers as the country faces the threat of COVID-19. He also encourage everyone to help in preventing the spread of the virus.
Angara is the newest senator who tested positive for the virus after Senators Koko Pimentel and Migz Zubiri.
