An Arab youth has been sentenced by Fujairah Criminal Court to serve seven years in prison and pay a fine of Dh20,000 due to drug abuse.
In a report on the Khaleej Times, the suspect was found guilty of possessing and abusing drugs.

The man also violated the mandatory lab test to ensure that he had stopped consuming drugs.
The court said an additional one year jail term shall be imposed because the accused failed to show regular urine samples as required by law.

“The jail term shall be doubled for refusing to give the mandatory regular urine sample,” the court said.
“To refuse to give a urine sample for lab test means that the defendant did abuse narcotic drugs, even if he denied doing so,” the court record added.
