Fourth person dies in pneumonia outbreak, say Chinese health authorities

An 89-year-old man was the fourth person who died from a pneumonia in Wuhan, China following the outbreak of a new coronavirus in the city.
The Wuhan Municipal Health Commission, quoted in a report by Reuters, said in a statement on Tuesday that the man died last January 19, five days after he was admitted to a hospital.
The man experienced severe breathing difficulties, says a report by GMA News Online. The patient was also said to have underlying health diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease.
As of 6 PM on Monday, there were already 217 new cases of the virus in China reported, with 198 of them based in Wuhan.
Even medical workers in the city were not spared from this virus from spreading. In a separate statement on its official Weibo account, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission confirmed there were 15 medical workers in the city who had been diagnosed with pneumonia.
Of those who were infected, one is in critical condition.
