Magnitude 5.6 earthquake rocks Davao Occidental 

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake rocked Mindanap region new last night.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 169 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 8:24 p.m, December 5.

The following are the intensities felt by nearbt areas Intensity III – Glan, Malapatan and Alabel, Sarangani, Intensity II – General Santos City; Koronadal City and Tampakan, South Cotabato, Intensity IV – Malungon, Sarangani

Intensty II – General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani and Intensity I – Gingoog City.

PHIVOLCS added that no expected damage properties after the quake, but aftershocks can occur.

In October, at least 3 strong earthquakes rocked the Mindanao region, devastating towns in North Cotabato and Davao province.
