LOOK: Filipinos in Abu Dhabi note of significant improvements at Philippine Embassy services

Filipino residents have expressed their satisfaction following the ease of service that they experienced at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Major improvements done within the year since Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana began her tour of duty include a new reception area where residents can easily get their passports after processing, improved queue times at the passport and document processing areas, as well as the newly-launched ‘Sentro Rizal’, an official establishment that will be used to promote Philippine arts, culture, and language here in the UAE as mandated by Republic Act 10066.

Residents note that the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi have undergone continuous improvements as months pass by. “Malaki na ho ang pinagbago,” lauded a resident during Ambassador Quintana’s impromptu inspection at the consular services as residents queued up to renew their passports as well as for other documentary requirements.

Other residents took to sending messages to share the increased efficiency of the embassy’s streamlined services. “Very efficient and courteous staff. I used to dread this place but it has improved a lot. Thank you to the management and all staff for putting their best effort in enhancing efficiency of system. God bless all!’, as per the message sent by another resident.

Two new senior officials introduced

Services at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has also been reinforced with two veteran diplomats – Minister and Consul General Marford Angeles who will be assigned at the Assistance to Nationals section as well as First Secretary and Consul General Maria Cynthia Pelayo who is currently assigned at the Consular section.

“Let’s keep improving services,” said Ambassador Quintana as she leads the new Embassy team.

Minister and Consul General Marford Angeles has extensive experience serving three posts in Asia and Australia for over two decades, including the Philippine Embassy in Hanoi, in Vietnam, the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia as well as the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney, Australia. In his latest assignment at the DFA in Manila, he headed the Division handling our country’s relations with  Southeast Asian countries Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam.

First Secretary and Consul General Maria Cynthia Pelayo likewise brings with her 14 years of experience as a diplomat since 2005, serving the Philippine Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands, as well as the Philippine Embassy in Hanoi.

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi is posed to continue on towards providing a pleasant experience to each and every Filipino that requires assistance.
