Police searches for woman in viral food tampering video in Texas

Not all jokes are funny if it means leaving a bad taste to others.

A woman’s viral video that circulated on Twitter showing her licking a half-gallon Blue Bell “Tin Roof” ice cream now puts her under police watch.

She is now facing a charge of second-degree felony tampering with a consumer product and is getting a warrant for her arrest, according to the Lufkin Police Department, in a post they made on Thursday on their official Facebook account.

They even released a photo of the woman with another man entering and exiting the Lufkin Walmart store where the incident happened on June 28.

Her video went viral and drew mixed reactions from netizens.

Isaac Hayes III, manager of The Estate of Isaac Hayes, said he doesn’t recall a “nationwide manhunt” when singer Ariana Grande licked a donut and put it back on the display.

“All three incidents are uncool but just like Ariana and this man weren’t sought after for arrest neither should the Bluebell bandit,” he tweeted.

Twitter user @BlindDensetsu who posted a video of the woman committing the act has 12.7 million views as of this writing and with 28,800 retweets on the social media platform. It was uploaded on June 29.

On Friday, the ice cream company released an official statement saying they’re looking at methods with their manufacturing process in order to add additional protection to the carton.

They have informed the public that they have also pulled out all the half-gallon Tin Roof ice cream at the store after the incident.
