Convicted dog meat trader arrested in Nueva Ecija

Some people never learn. This was true in the case Perry Baybay, who was arrested anew by authorities while transporting dog meat in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday.

A Facebook post showed a truckload of burnt body parts of dogs, chopped-up and bagged separately, which will be delivered in the dog meat serving restaurants of Baguio-Benguet.

Baybay was already convicted of illegal dog meat trade and has an outstanding warrant of arrest for violation of the Animal Welfare Act, Anti-Rabies Act, and Meat Inspection Law.

Baybay was already arrested in two separate incidents in Cavite and Batangas.

Netizens were angered by the arrest of the suspect, calling for the arrest of restaurant owners who continue to serve dog meat in their stores.

Others also called on authorities to be more vigilant in monitoring illegal trade of dog meat.
