A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was selected as the lucky winner of Php1 million cash during a recent convention of a telco for e-load retailers.
The unnamed former OFW from Pangasinan was among 2,000 other e-loading retailers who attended Smart’s annual retailer convention, reported Manila Standard.
The former OFW-turned-millionaire said he would put the money and bank and use it for his family’s future particularly on his children’s studies.
The former OFW recalled that he returned to the country after nearly a decade overseas and tried the engaging in the e-loading business as per the suggestion of his wife. The business was a success only a year after which led him to decide to stay in the country for good to be with his wife and four children.
Aside from the former OFW, other retailers also won different prizes such as cash, mobile phones and gadgets, and a brand-new motorcycle in the convention. Another e-loading retailer was also selected to win Php1 million cash.
The convention was held as a form of the telecom company’s appreciation towards its e-loading retailers.
