Filipina testifies against her ex boss in Dubai over molestation charges

A manager of an advertisement company has been accused of molesting a receptionist in his office.

The Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday heard the case of a 26-year-old Indian receptionist who filed a complaint against a 53-year-old Indian manager for allegedly sexually harassing her, reported Khaleej Times.

The complainant said that the suspect grabbed her left hand, forcefully dragged her towards him, and made her sit on his lap while touching her inappropriately.

Court records show that the receptionist was hired to work as a receptionist for the manager in December last year. She said that the manager molested “on a daily basis” shortly after getting hired.

The defendant pleaded not guilty.

However, another victim came forward to testify against the manager over his indecent acts. This time, a 29-year-old Filipina told the prosecutors that she previously worked as a receptionist for the same Indian manager. She said that she worked for him for over two months but decided to resign due to repeated acts of molestation.

The Filipina said that she would often receive inappropriate messages from him on WhatsApp asking her to go out on dates and have sex with him.

She said that she filed a case against the Indian manager at Bur Dubai police station but decided to waive her complaint after the company gave her full salary and cancelled her visa to allow her to look for another job.

The trial for the case adjourned for defence hearing.
