President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo will be a “beautiful and young President”.
In his speech during the graduation rites of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Maragtas” Class of 2018, Duterte said he has no idea who will follow his presidency.
“Ako, after three years aalis na ako, I don’t know who’ll be the next president,” Duterte said.
“But if the Vice President wins, then you’ll have a beautiful and a young President in this country,” Duterte said of Robredo.
During the event, Duterte also referred Robredo as “my lady” and expressed his hopes to have more opportunities to attend events with the vice president.
“This is the third time that I have greeted you, my lady,” Duterte said.
“I love to see my Vice President.”
On Tuesday, Duterte also ribbed that the vice president was among the topics discussed in a Cabinet meeting.
“Natapos ho kami, Ma’am, ng three, ang pinag-usapan namin ikaw,” Duterte told Robredo.
Robredo was a former member of the Duterte cabinet. However, she resigned due to her political differences with Pres. Duterte.
