Kuwait adds 25 names to national terrorism list, freezes assets

Kuwait has added 25 individuals to its national terrorism list, including 24 citizens and one non-Kuwaiti, bringing the total number of designated persons and entities to 219.

According to Al Rai Arabic daily, the update was announced by the Special Committee responsible for implementing United Nations Security Council resolutions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which cover counter-terrorism and the prevention of weapons of mass destruction proliferation.

Authorities said the updated list includes individuals and entities located both within Kuwait and abroad.

The designation triggers strict measures, including the freezing of funds and other economic resources owned directly or indirectly by those listed. It also prohibits the provision of financial services or related support to the designated individuals and entities.

The committee urged full implementation of the decision in accordance with its executive regulations and relevant legal provisions.
