The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has advised Filipinos in the Gulf state to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of Kuwaiti authorities amid continuing tensions in the Middle East.
In an advisory issued Saturday, the embassy urged Filipinos to obtain information only from official government channels and credible news sources.
The embassy also advised Filipinos to avoid unnecessary travel and limit outdoor activities to essential errands.
It encouraged them to keep their mobile phones and other communication devices fully charged to ensure they can be reached in case of emergencies.
The embassy also warned against spreading fake news, misinformation and speculation related to the situation in the region.
It said it continues to closely monitor developments and will issue additional advisories if necessary.
Filipinos needing assistance may contact the embassy’s hotline, while emergencies may be reported through Kuwait’s emergency hotline, 112.
