34 OFWs, one dependent from Qatar safely return to PH

Thirty-four overseas Filipino workers and one dependent from Qatar safely returned to the Philippines on Friday morning as the government continues repatriation efforts amid tensions in the Middle East.

The repatriates arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City aboard Qatar Airways Flight QR934 on May 16, 2026.

According to the Department of Migrant Workers, the returning Filipinos were immediately assisted by personnel from the DMW, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and medical teams from the Manila International Airport Authority in coordination with the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation.

Authorities said the agencies ensured the repatriates’ safe arrival and monitored their condition upon landing.

Under the government’s Post-Repatriation Program, the OFWs were provided immediate medical assistance, financial aid, temporary accommodation, and transportation support for their return to their respective provinces.

The repatriation forms part of the government’s continuing response to protect Filipinos affected by the ongoing tensions and security concerns in the Middle East region.

The Marcos administration earlier directed concerned agencies to strengthen assistance and reintegration programs for returning overseas Filipino workers.

Government agencies said reintegration support, including livelihood opportunities and employment assistance, remains available for affected OFWs seeking to restart their lives in the Philippines.
