United Arab Emirates President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from Japanese President Sanae Takaichi, during which they discussed regional developments and their impact on security, stability, maritime safety, energy supplies, and the global economy.
They addressed ongoing Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the UAE and neighboring countries, including assaults on civilians and civilian infrastructure, calling them violations of sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter.
Takaichi condemned the attacks and expressed Japan’s solidarity with the UAE in protecting its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its people.
The leaders also reviewed UAE-Japan cooperation in economic and development areas under their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, noting progress in bilateral projects.
They welcomed the conclusion of negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which is expected to boost trade, investment, and overall cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the partnership in ways that support mutual interests and benefit their peoples.
