Minsa Mariam Jacob, a 4-year-old Kerala native living in Qatar, was discovered dead on her school bus on September 11.
Jacob had slept off on the way to school in the morning, going unnoticed by the driver, who had secured the bus once it arrived at the school.
The kindergarten student had been left in the bus for more than four hours and was discovered unconscious when the bus driver and conductor returned. Despite being transported to a hospital with haste, she was unable to be revived at the facility.

It was her birthday, according to media reports.
Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education stated that they are currently investigating the incident.
“The Ministry, as well as the respective authorities will take the necessary measures as well as the maximum punishment against the aggressors with regards to regulations and according to the results of the ongoing investigation. The ministry also affirms its keenness to adhere to the highest quality of security and safety standards for its students, and will not tolerate any shortcomings in this regard. It extends its sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased student,” read their statement.
