Basketball star James Yap will be running for councilor in San Juan City.
Yap has filed his certificate of candidacy along with incumbent mayor Francis Zamora on Tuesday, October 5.
The Rain or Shine guard is not the only basketball player in Zamora’s slate which also includes Paul Artadi and Don Allado.

This is the first attempt of Yap to enter politics with Zamora saying the basketball player has the enthusiasm to serve.
“A lot of people idolize him, especially the youth. He came from humble beginnings. He himself is a success story,” Zamora said when asked about Yap.
“‘Yung ganoong life story is a source of inspiration. That I feel is his biggest strength. He can be a big influence in our anti-drug programs and advocacies for the younger generation,” he added. (TDT)
