More than 21,700 Filipinos overseas have contracted COVID-19, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported.
In its COVID-19 bulletin, the DFA reported 36 new infections among Filipinos overseas, bringing the total number of cases to 21,767.
Of these cases, 7,832 are still undergoing treatment.
The DFA also reported 45 new recoveries and seven new fatalities among Filipinos overseas, bringing the recovery count and death toll to 12,603 and 1,332, respectively.

“Compared to last week’s figures, the total number of COVID-19 fatalities and recoveries increased slightly by 0.53%, and 0.36%, respectively, while those under treatment decreased by 0.20%,” the DFA said.
Most of the cases are in the Middle East and Africa regions at 12,343, followed by the Asia Pacific Region (4,839 cases), Europe (3,569 cases), and Americas (1,016 cases).
“The DFA continues to monitor the situation of overseas Filipinos and remains steadfast in promoting and protecting their welfare,” the DFA said.
