‘Naturukan o hindi?’ DOH investigates viral video of health worker failing to push syringe during COVID-19 vaccination

The Department of Health is now investigating the circulating video online of a vaccine recipient who did not get the proper vaccine after the health worker did not push the syringe to inject the vaccine.

The video first posted on Twitter was however deleted as of Monday morning.

“The DOH is aware of the circulating video of a prospective vaccine recipient who failed to receive a proper dose of COVID-19 vaccine. This is a clear breach of vaccination protocol,” it said in a statement.

The vaccine recipient, who was filming the incident, noticed that the healthcare worker failed to push the contents of the syringe.

“The vaccination site was quick to address the mistake and she was successfully vaccinated after showing the video to the vaccination team,” the DOH said.

The DOH said that it is now coordinating with the LGU concerned to investigate the breach in protocols.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque assures the public that this incident is being taken seriously.

“Sinisigurado po namin na ating iimbestigahan ang pangyayaring ito upang mapabuti ang ating national vaccination program. Sa pagdating ng mas maraming bakuna sa bansa, we will continue to improve our speed, scale, and quality of service,” Duque said. (TDT)
