India extends suspension of international flights until June 30

The Indian Government has extended the suspension of international commercial flight operations until June 30, 2021, in the wake of the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) stated that the competent authority had further extended the validity of the circular regarding scheduled international commercial passenger services to and from India — till 2359 hrs IST of June 30, 2021.

However, the restrictions would not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA, the circular stated.

Passenger air services were initially suspended last year on March 25, 2020, due to the nationwide lockdown to check the spread of Covid-19. However, domestic flight services resumed from May 25, 2020, to normal. (AW)
