VP Robredo ‘super touched’ by lugaw donated by volunteer doctors

Vice President Leni Robredo is unmindful of the ‘lugaw’ tag by his critics, as she posted on Facebook photos of rice porridge donated by volunteer doctors in her telemedicine initiative.

“Two of our volunteer doctors just sent us food now. Grabe!! Dapat yata kami yung nagpapadala sainyo. Kayo na yung naiistorbo namin, kami pa pinapadalhan nyo ng pagkain. Sharing these with our hardworking staff who never had a day of rest since the start of the pandemic,” Robredo said in a Facebook post on April 15.

“Super touched by the kindness and generosity of so many people at a time of great need. May you be blessed a thousandfold all the days of your life,” she added.

A day before this, Robredo also shared a photo of spicy ‘lugaw’, her meal for lunch while doing a call center duty for her telemedicine initiative.

“Spicy lugaw with tokwa’t baboy for lunch while volunteering as a chat agent for our Bayanihan E-Konsulta patients,” she said.

Bayanihan e-Konsulta provides free telemedicine services courtesy of volunteer doctors and other staff, including Robredo’s daughter, Dr. Tricia Robredo.

“We’re trying to catch up with our backlogs dahil andaming pasyente,” she added.

Robredo’s office also kickstarted a pilot run of a mobile laboratory that will provide COVID-19 test, blood test, and x-ray in Quezon City amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
