LOOK: Ex-Kapuso host Rhea Santos now a newscaster in Canada

Former Kapuso news and TV personality Rhea Santos took a leap of faith when she left GMA Network last year.

She had been in the news industry for 19 years when her family decided to migrate to Canada.

But being away from the camera for years, Rhea continues to pursue her passion for storytelling and journalism.

She created a Youtube vlog showing how she and her family adjust to their new life.

Santos also took up a course on Broadcast and Online Journalism at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Recently, she revealed that she will venture again in newscasting for the Filipino community in Canada.

“Marking this day that I’m able to do my passion to tell stories that matter to my ‘kababayan’ here in Canada. You will all meet the Filipino team of OMNI News in the coming days,” Santos said in a Facebook post.

She also recognized the people who made this possible.

“It’s not only Filipinos and Fil-Canadian journalists making this possible. A big part are the Canadians and people of diverse backgrounds whom I’m given the opportunity to work with that make OMNI Filipino happen,” she said.
