Nine million worth of properties were stolen from an Abu Dhabi resident when he entrusted them to a close friend.
The friend in question, an Arab national, had sold off a residential villa, a commercial land and a luxury car through the power of attorney granted by the victim.
The Arab reportedly sold his properties, worth Dh9 million, without his knowledge. However, the defendant said that he had the capacity to do so, reported Araa News.
In addition, the victim did not receive the money from the transaction. He testified in court that he had treated the defendant as a family but he took advantage of it.
The court gave both sides until October 2 to hear their statements in the next hearing.
