Dubai Police revealed that speeding is at the top of traffic violations during the first half of 2018.
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director of traffic department at Dubai Police, said many drivers continue to speed despite awareness campaigns this year, reported Khaleej Times.
Speed limit violators reached 260,169 in a span of six months. Non-compliance with the light vehicle compulsory lane seconded the list with 189,922 incidences.
Meanwhile, parking offenses came in third with 79,752, followed by traffic obstruction which ranked fourth with 64,487 tickets.
The police also issued tickets to 21,362 drivers who were using mobile phones while driving.
Al Mazrouei also reminded patrols to monitor speeding drives and ensure safety of road users.
