Colonel Abdallah Saif Al Matrooshi, deputy director of the police operations at Ajman Police, called on the public and bank customers not to trust strangers and to remain cautious after withdrawing cash from banks.
Al Matrooshi’s made the reminder after police arrested two men who robbed Dh24,000 from an Asian man who just withdrew the money from a bank.
According to the Khaleej Times, the suspect approached the victim and asked how a UAE notes look like. The victim took out his money, Dh70,000 and showed it to the suspect.
The suspect returned the money to the victim, who then counted the money and found that Dh24,000 was missing.
The suspect’s son helped carry out the robbery.
The police unit formed to hunt the suspects nabbed the suspect and his son within 24 hours and retrieved the stolen money from the suspect.
