Oman Labor Minister Dr. Mahad bin Said Al Bawaain met with Philippine labor officials and recruitment agencies to discuss developments in Oman’s labor market and issues affecting the recruitment and deployment of Filipino workers.
The meeting, organized by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Manila on July 24, brought together officials from the Department of Migrant Workers led by Undersecretary Jainal T. Rasul Jr., Assistant Secretary Julyn Ambito-Fermin, Labor Attaché Geraldine Mendez, and representatives of Philippine recruitment agencies.
Discussions centered on labor market updates in Oman, the recruitment and deployment of Filipino workers, and measures to strengthen bilateral labor cooperation.
The two sides also discussed promoting ethical recruitment practices and improving labor mobility between the Philippines and Oman.
According to organizers, the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to expand cooperation and ensure fair, safe and mutually beneficial overseas employment opportunities for Filipino workers.
