Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian has thanked the United Arab Emirates for providing emergency humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the earthquake in Mindanao.
In a message to Saqr Ghobash, Gatchalian expressed the Philippine government’s appreciation for the UAE’s swift response to the disaster.
He said the assistance arrived at a critical time and helped ease the suffering of affected families by providing food, drinking water and other humanitarian support.
According to Gatchalian, the aid reflected not only the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian assistance but also the strong bilateral relationship between the Philippines and the UAE.
The Senate president also reaffirmed the Philippine Senate’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation with the UAE’s Federal National Council through parliamentary friendship groups and other joint initiatives, building on more than five decades of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
