Padilla cites Google in opposing Escudero as impeachment presiding officer

Senator Robin Padilla said he turned to Google to better understand the legal issues behind his vote opposing the designation of Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero as presiding officer of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

During the Senate proceedings on Monday, July 6, Padilla was among the eight senators who voted against Escudero serving as presiding officer.

At UP rin: University of Prison,” said Padilla.

The Senate minority bloc has been pushing for Senate President Pro Tempore Win Gatchalian to preside over the impeachment trial instead.
