The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence has warned that installing illuminated advertising boards on building facades or rooftops without prior approval is punishable by a Dh10,000 fine.
The authority said the violation falls under Item 53 of the general violations listed in Cabinet Resolution No. 24 of 2012, which regulates civil defense services in the UAE.
The regulation covers all existing buildings, facilities, and structures under construction across the country, except for standalone private residential homes.
Civil Defence urged building owners, operators, and businesses to secure the necessary permits before installing illuminated signboards, saying the requirement aims to ensure public safety and prevent risks associated with non-compliant installations.
Meanwhile, several residential tower and building managements have also reminded residents to observe fire safety regulations to help protect lives and property.
Residents were advised not to use charcoal or electric grills for barbecues, smoke shisha on balconies, leave incense or candles unattended, throw objects, including cigarette butts, from balconies, or smoke in common areas of residential buildings.
Building managements warned that violating these safety measures could increase the risk of fires, endanger residents, damage property, and trigger false fire alarms.
