The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration distributed 683 OWWA e-cards and processed 166 membership renewals during a one-day service activity for overseas Filipino workers in Macau.
The initiative was led by OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan as part of the agency’s efforts to bring government services closer to Filipino workers abroad.
According to OWWA, the e-card serves as a proof of active membership and provides OFWs easier access to the agency’s programs, benefits and welfare services.
The agency said the activity enabled hundreds of Filipino workers in Macau to update their membership records and obtain documents needed to access OWWA assistance.
“Patuloy na inilalapit ng OWWA ang mahahalagang serbisyo sa ating mga kababayang OFWs upang mas mapadali ang kanilang pag-access sa mga benepisyo at programa ng ahensya,” OWWA said in a statement.
The agency thanked the Filipino community in Macau for participating in the program and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding services for OFWs overseas.
OWWA said it will continue conducting similar outreach activities to ensure that overseas Filipino workers can conveniently access government services regardless of their location.
The program forms part of the agency’s broader efforts to strengthen welfare assistance and membership services for Filipinos working abroad under the government’s OFW support initiatives.
