UAE leaders honor fathers on Father’s Day

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Father’s Day tributes across the UAE, sharing a heartfelt message honoring fathers and recognizing their role in strengthening families and society.

In a social media post, Sheikh Mohamed shared a black-and-white photograph with his late father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE.

The president emphasized the importance of fathers in nurturing strong families and communities, particularly as the UAE observes 2026 as the Year of the Family.

Sheikh Mohamed said fathers remain a source of strength for society and contribute to the nation’s continued progress.

“May God bless the fathers in the Emirates and around the world, and have mercy on those among them who have departed from our world,” he said.

Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also marked the occasion by sharing a video tribute to his late father, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

“We are what they sowed, what they made and built. We are what they left behind,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum shared a video featuring childhood moments with his father, highlighting the bond between generations.

The Father’s Day tributes come as the UAE continues initiatives under the Year of the Family, a national campaign aimed at strengthening family values and supporting parents and children through public policies and community programs.

Officials have described strong families as the foundation of a resilient and prosperous society.
