President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. paid tribute to his late father, former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., on Father’s Day, reflecting on the lessons that continue to guide him in public service.
In a social media post on Sunday, Marcos said some lessons learned from a parent endure regardless of the passage of time.
“Remembering my father today,” the president wrote.
“No matter how much time passes, there are some lessons a son never outgrows. My father taught me the value of duty, the importance of perseverance and the conviction that our lives are measured by what we give of ourselves in service to others.”
Marcos said he remains deeply grateful for both the lessons and love he received from his father.
The president also extended his Father’s Day greetings to fathers and father figures across the country.
“On this Father’s Day, I honor not only my father but all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers and father figures whose love, sacrifice and presence help shape the lives of their children and the future of our nation,” he said.
