Vice Ganda brought politics into noontime television after joking about Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s viral Senate incident during Tuesday’s episode of “It’s Showtime.”
The comedian drew laughter from the audience while referencing the now-viral scene involving dela Rosa’s reported rush through Senate hallways and staircases amid an attempted arrest linked to the International Criminal Court investigation.
During his banter with co-hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario, Vice jokingly used Anne Curtis in a fictional scenario tied to the incident.
“Sabi ko kay Anne Curtis, papasok ka ba? Papasok ako. ‘Pag dumating ako diyan, tatanungin n’yo ba’t nando’n ako?!” Vice said.
He then continued the joke by referencing reports that dela Rosa supposedly stumbled near a staircase during Monday’s Senate commotion.
“Si Anne Curtis papasok dapat, nandiyan na kanina sa ABS, umuwi. Tumatakbo kasi siya, nadapa sa hagdanan. Bumalik si Anne. Get well soon, nadapa si Anne,” he added.
The audience erupted in laughter following the remarks, which many online interpreted as a clear jab at the senator.
The joke came after CCTV footage circulated online showing dela Rosa hurrying through Senate corridors while being pursued by individuals believed to be National Bureau of Investigation agents attempting to serve an arrest warrant.
Dela Rosa later claimed he was being blocked from entering the Senate amid rumors of an International Criminal Court warrant tied to the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign.
Vice Ganda has long been vocal about political issues and previously expressed support for former Vice President Leni Robredo during the 2022 elections.
The comedian recently attended an event in Naga City linked to Robredo’s initiatives, further fueling discussions among supporters online.
