Dubai has rolled out commercial driverless taxi services through a partnership between Dubai Taxi Company and Baidu’s autonomous ride-hailing platform, Apollo Go.
The initial deployment includes 50 vehicles, with plans to expand the fleet to more than 1,000 autonomous taxis in the coming years.
Passengers can book rides through the Apollo Go app, marking its first international deployment as the company expands globally.
Officials said the initiative supports Dubai’s Self-Driving Transport Strategy, which aims to make 25 percent of all trips in the city driverless by 2030.
Authorities highlighted that the rollout follows successful trials and regulatory approval for fully autonomous operations, positioning Dubai as a key hub for next-generation mobility.
The launch reflects the emirate’s broader push toward smart, efficient, and technology-driven transport systems.
