CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: Inaugural The Filipino Times Watchlist Awards in search of exceptional OFW engineers and architects

The Filipino Times (TFT) Watchlist, a platform for recognizing the exceptional achievements of Filipino Architects and Engineers in the Middle East, has been launched. The awards ceremony, which will take place on 17th March 2023, aims to celebrate the contributions of Filipinos in the fields of engineering and architecture in the Arab world and uplift the image of the Philippines.

Filipino architects and engineers are known for their exceptional skills and innovative designs. They have established themselves as key decision-makers and industry leaders in the Middle East, playing a prominent role in shaping the future through their contributions in procurement, execution, and policy creation. With salaries ranging from AED 10,000 to AED 30,000, these highly skilled professionals are in high demand and rank among the highest-paid overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

The jury members comprise of fellow Filipino awardees across the architects and engineers for the past iterations of The Filipino Times Awards. They include:

Dr. Mary Jane Alvero, CEO of PRIME Group who has been part of The Filipino Times Awards Jury since 2018; Engr. Victorino Abejero, Managing Director of GulfTIC Certification and 2015 TFT Awards Engineer of the Year; Engr. Emelyn Martinez, Managing Director of Qualis and 2018 TFT Awards Engineer of the Year; Engr. Jeffrey Uy, VP of Project Management at ALDAR Properties PSJ and 2017 TFT Awards Engineer of the Year; Arch. Christine Erlanda, Associate Partner, Godwin Austen Johnson Architect and 2019 TFT Awards Architect of the Year; and Arch. Suzette Peachie Bayonito, Senior Architect at National Engineering Bureau and 2017 TFT Awards Architect of the Year.

The day-long event will feature esteemed speakers and industry leaders from the Middle East and the Philippines. The awards ceremony provides a unique opportunity for overseas Filipinos in the UAE and the Middle East to nominate themselves or their peers for recognition. The Filipino Times Watchlist serves as a platform to showcase the talent, expertise, and innovative skills of Filipinos in the international arena.

To nominate a candidate for The Filipino Times Watchlist, simply complete the official online nomination form through the website http://www.thefilipinotimesawards.com/TFTwatchlist/. Nominations for the inaugural awards ceremony are open until February 13, and the organizers encourage everyone to participate and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Filipinos in the Arab World.
