A child was crushed to death by a speeding car in Fujairah area.
The five-year-old died on the spot after he was run over by a speeding car while crossing the road to reach his school in Sakmkam area.

Director of Traffic and Patrols department in Fujairah Police, Colonel Saleh Al-Dhanhani, said that they were alerted around 7:23 am that a five-year-old student was run over near a private school in Fujairah.
Following the information that they received, a police patrol rushed to the area which found out that the boy had died on the spot.
Overspeeding, negligence, and lack of attention by an Arab driver are believed to be the reasons for the mishap.

The police also blamed the negligent parents for allowing the little child to cross the road to the school.
Col Dhanhani urged drivers to be careful while driving their vehicles, especially during school hours. (AW)
