Hundreds of overseas Filipinos in the UAE have alerted The Filipino Times regarding unknown people tagging them at a malicious post that appears to be a lewd video of a woman.
Concerned readers warned netizens not to click the links, stating that it could lead users to a phishing site or download malware on their devices.
Authorities from the Philippine National Police Anti Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) advises individuals to practice due diligence and to always double-check if the website they are visiting is legitimate.
They urged netizens not to divulge sensitive information such as passwords, addresses, and other personal private information.
Facebook has yet to issue an advisory regarding the issue.
