The Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department said that they have arrested 125 involved in cybercrimes and retrieved some 210 hacked accounts last year.
In a report on the Gulf Today, Colonel Omer Ahmed Abul Zoud, Director of the CID, said that the police teams are ready and equipped to solve cyber crimes especially those who are involved in bank and credit card scams.

“Awareness campaigns are regularly being carried out by the department in order to open people’s eyes to the vicious tricks that cyber criminals use to commit robberies or blackmailing,” Col. Abul Zoud said.
Authorities reported that people should report to officials if they have been victimized by blackmailing and hacking incidents. 9TDT)
